Charles Tyrwhitt has announced the appointment of Rebecca Howat as its new managing director as the men’s clothing retailer completes a leadership restructuring.
Howat has worked at the firm for almost 13 years, and was previously chief operating officer at the firm, a role she has held since 2020.
Joining Charles Tyrwhitt in 2013 as head of merchandising, Howat subsequently oversaw supply chains, logistics, and global merchandise until her appointment as COO.
Luke Kingsnorth, previously chief executive of Charles Tyrwhitt, has been promoted to group chief executive of Bectin Ltd, the holding company for Charles Tyrwhitt and luxury brand The White Company.
As part of the change and ahead of Howat’s promotion, Charles Tyrwhitt has renamed Kingsnorth’s role to managing director.
“I’m delighted to see Rebecca step into the role of managing director,” Kingsnorth said.
“She knows Charles Tyrwhitt inside out, brings huge commercial and operational experience, and has a real understanding of what it takes to lead the business. Rebecca has played an important role in the company’s success over the years, and I’m very confident in her ability to build on our strong foundations and lead Charles Tyrwhitt into its next phase of growth.”
In its financials for the full year to August 2025, the firm reported a turnover of £347 million, a rise from £308.5 million the previous year.
It continues to expand into new markets, having increased its physical store presence in the UK, US, and India as well as debuting in Dubai and Johannesburg throughout 2025.
